Death

Ok, not really anime or manga. But a comic book. And very good too.

Sandman’s personification of Death is pretty non-standard. It’s not totally fictional, as it roots deeply in many cultures, but it’s not the grim reaper type. She’s optimistic, she really knows the value of life. And she’s the one who actually *helps* you at the end.
